We are always seeking to recruit new volunteers. Our volunteers receive regular training and perform a variety of roles, including home visiting, assisting in our charity shop or serving on our board of trustees. Details of forthcoming volunteer preparation courses are available in the events section of this site.

The majority of our volunteers are home visiting volunteers, who are matched with a family to provide them with support and friendship, however we offer many other volunteer roles as follows:

  • Our charity shop welcomes volunteer shop assistants and drivers, who can help uplift donations.
  • Our Friends of Home-Start Aberdeen group is always seeking new members to provide ad-hoc support with fundraising events.
  • Those with business, healthcare or social work experience may be interested in a role as a trustee or adviser.
